THE NILS LOFGREN BAND to perform 5/15 at Memorial Hall, part of the Longworth-Anderson Series’ third season line-up of nationally recognized performers and bands. A versatile singer-songwriter, guitarist, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, and Grammy nominee, Nils Lofgren is a member of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band and has toured with Neil Young’s Crazy Horse and Ringo Starr’s All-Starr Band.
Nils hits the road this May with an all-new hard-hitting studio album featuring a dozen dazzling, forceful songs and first band tour in over 15 years. The Nils Lofgren Band shows will include tracks from his new album Blue With Lou, produced by Nils and his wife Amy, out April 26. The album features six songs Nils wrote with the legendary Lou Reed along with new originals from Nils.
He’ll be joined on tour by a great cast of old friends and stellar musicians: Andy Newmark on drums, Kevin McCormick on bass, and Cindy Mizelle on vocals, all featured on the new album, along with Nils’ brother and Grin bandmate Tom Lofgren on guitars, keyboards, and vocals. In addition to the new album’s songs, Nils plans a lot of jamming and a joyful, reckless exploration of the best live songs through his 50 years on the road on this rare band tour.
